Power corrupts: Lessons from the life and legacy of one of history's most fascinating women; a new video premiering NOW: a short overview of Eleanor's life; & giveaways
Other than her name, I knew nothing about Eleanor of Aquitane before reading your piece. I also learned that Poitou is a distinct and endangered language. Thanks!
Being Queen of France first and then England for Eleanor then would have been like a baseball player playing originally for the New York Yankees and then being traded to the Boston Red Sox- going from a home team to the home team's biggest enemy.
Merry Christmas, Lexi! Another great article! Speaking of Middle Ages, you might enjoy my own articles on the subject (I'd love to hear your feedback): https://hothistory.substack.com/t/middle-ages
Excellent recap of Eleanor's life. I remember the movie well, probably the first 'restricted' movie I saw with the permission of my very strict but all loving Roman Irish Catholic Parents.

I may have to watch A Lion in Winter now. :)
